ELK, DEER, ORYX, ANTELOPE, IBEX
The "Enhancement Package" consists of one license each for deer, elk, pronghorn antelope, oryx and ibex. Two authorization packages will be auctioned to the highest bidder for the 2009-2010 season. The minimum bag limits are one fork-antlered deer, one mature bull elk, one oryx of either sex, one ibex of either sex, and one mature buck pronghorn.
This special hunting
package will be auctioned at the Wild Sheep Foundation Conference February 7-9
and RMEF Elk Camp March 5-8. The tags for elk, deer, pronghorn, oryx and ibex will be sold as a package, but the buyer may
split them up to different hunters as they wish. For more details, contact Tuffy Barnett at (575) 838-6202.

Species: (a) Deer: buck with
a minimum of one forked antler
(b) Elk: mature bull
(c) Oryx: either sex
(d) Ibex: either sex
(e) Pronghorn: mature buck
Weapon: The weapon type for
all authorizations in this package shall be “any
legal weapon” unless specific weapon
restrictions exist pursuant to public land
management agency regulations.
Area:(a) Deer: any legally accessible
public lands where hunting is allowed,
and private land with written permission
(b) Elk: any legally
accessible public lands where hunting is allowed, and
private land with written permission
(c) Oryx: any legally
accessible public lands where hunting is allowed, and
private land with written permission. If the
holder of an oryx authorization
or license chooses to hunt on WSMR, they
must contact the
Department of Game and Fish
two weeks in advance of proposed hunt start
date to schedule access to White Sands
Missile Range (WSMR) and must be
accompanied by a badged
department employee or a WSMR escort when on
WSMR lands.
(d) Ibex: any legally
accessible public lands where hunting is allowed, and
private land with written permission
(e) Pronghorn: any legally
accessible public lands where hunting is allowed,
and private land with written permission
